i'm a big toseland fan.....but i fear this year he will not do well due to rossi. i don't even mean rossi's undoubtable talent, i mean that Yamaha lets all their fucking testriders ride on BRIDGESTONE when the only rider on Bs is Rossi. They stick everything in rossi's ass, it's unbelivable!

Big mistake Toseland went to fucking Yamaha.

what do you guys think?

cheers, gareth

ok,

Well i totally know where you're coming from, i'm a massive JT fan and at first i too thought it was a big mistake for him to join yammy.

But, you have to take risks.

Rossi took a huge risk heading to yamaha, the first year it paid off, ever since it's pretty questionable whether it was a good or bad idea.

I think it will work out for JT, it's worked out for Bradley Smith getting the Polaris aprilia ride.

Rossi is a major drawcard for Dorna, without him they know ticket sales will drop heavily.

So it's up to the other riders to take a page from Rossi's book and start selling themselves !

My prediction is Lukas Pesek is a popular rider when he hits the 800cc (hopefully by then Dorna will have come to their senses and reverted back to the 990) hehehe

Lukas is a great personality...

Lorenzo tries to copy Rossi, but it comes off as cocky..

I think JT has made the right choice Gareth, he might not be on the best ride (who knows now they are on Michelin)

If he works hard, puts in the effort to gain a following of supporters, i think he'll be offered a better ride down the track (pardon the pun)

I think JT will do well but as most Supers have found it's very hard to compete in MotoGP. So I suspect that alone will be much more challenging then the issue of whether vale is on BS or Mich!

Toseland is a good guy and I think that he'll do well this season! Maybe he'll have little problems at the begining to get used to the bike , not sure though. I'd love to see him being 2nd or 3rd on this season's end!

Season 2008 - Fogarty: Toseland can win on debut

Eurosport - Sun, 06 Jan 10:26:00 2008

James Toseland can stun the Moto GP world by winning on his debut in Qatar, according to World Superbike legend Carl Fogarty.

Toseland, 27, will ride for the Tech-3 Yamaha team this season after winning his second World Superbike title in 2007 with Ten Kate Honda.
And fellow Briton Fogarty, who is the most successful rider in World Superbike history with four world crowns and 59 wins, sees no reason why he cannot shake up the Grand Prix paddock right from the word go at the Losail circuit in Doha.
"I think he'll be really fired up and I'd love to see him win a race - I really would," Fogarty told Motorcycle News.
"There is no reason why he can't. All he's doing is riding a bike that's a little bit faster and a little bit lighter - that's all. At the circuits he knows like Qatar - where he's already won in Superbikes - he can go out and win the race.
Fogarty knows what he is talking about. He finished sixth as a wildcard in only his second Moto GP race - the 1990 Swedish Grand Prix - at a time when his only international competition had been in endurance events and road races.
He is convinced that Toseland, with two WSBK titles and 16 wins to his name, is in a much better position to take a race victory against the likes of Valentino Rossi and world champion Casey Stoner.

But he insists that the key to success is getting enough testing mileage under his belt before the season starts.
"He needs to get plenty of testing and not get fazed by the big names," Fogarty added. "I'd love to see him win at Donington especially, although that would make me well jealous."
No Briton has won a Moto GP race since the late Barry Sheen triumphed at the Swedish Grand Prix 27 years ago.
