All'indomani del ritorno al successo in Cina il pesarese apre il libro dei ricordi: "Che emozione il debutto con la M1 e il primo bacio a Daniela dopo l'esame delle medie"

MILANO, 6 maggio 2008 - C’è sempre una prima volta nella storia di ognuno di noi, così come in quella di Valentino Rossi che domenica, finalmente, ha potuto gustarsi il primo successo con le gomme Bridgestone: "È stata una bella emozione e gli ultimi giri sono stati incredibili - dice -. Una sensazione particolare guidare così forte fino al traguardo, con una moto sempre stabile: farò di tutto per dimostrare che la mia è stata una scelta giusta". Rossi ripercorre le "prime volte" più importanti della vita.
- Il primo ricordo legato alla moto...
"Un piccolo motorino da cross rosso, con la scritta "MRE" sul sedile blu. Me l’ha regalato il mio babbo quando avevo circa tre anni. Mi faceva girare nel giardino intorno alla casa a Tavullia, all’inizio con le rotelline, poi senza".
- La prima volta che si è detto: "Però, sono bravo...".
"A Jerez 1996 ho fatto una gran gara, lottando con i migliori della 125 con una moto che andava più piano. Lì mi sono detto: con una moto che va come la loro, li posso fregare".
- La prima vittoria.
"Brno 1996: bellissima! Ho battuto all’ultimo giro Jorge Martinez, un po’ il nonno della 125 e il mago delle staccate. Quell’anno lì avevamo fatto un sacco di lotte, perché volevo essere io il mago delle staccate. Ero un po’ invidioso...".
- Il primo bacio.
"Con Daniela, la sera dopo essere stato promosso all’esame delle medie, dietro una casa diroccata in campagna".
- Il primo acquisto con i soldi guadagnati con le moto.
"Una macchina, una Honda Civic VTec rossa, nel 1997, quando ho preso la patente".
- La prima intervista della vita.
"Non la ricordo, boh (ci pensa un po’; n.d.r.)... Anzi sì, ero piccolo, me l’ha fatta Virginio Ferrari a Pesaro: c’era una gara e lui, il mio babbo e altri piloti facevano i traversi con le macchine: io giravo con il "GO-Pro" e Virginio, che era amico di Graziano (papà Rossi, ndr), mi fece la prima intervista".
- La prima volta con la Yamaha.
"Me la ricordo molto bene, perché era stata una grande scommessa. Ho impresso il momento in cui sono partito e mi sono gustato il primo giro sulla M1. Poi, quando mi sono fermato, ricordo le facce interrogative di tutti gli ingegneri della Yamaha: ci saranno state, non esagero, una quarantina di persone e tutti mi guardavano. Una bella emozione".
- La prima caduta.
"La prima volta che sono entrato in pista per una gara! Era il 1993, a Magione, con la Cagiva 125. Sono arrivato alla prima curva, ho piegato e sono caduto, probabilmente perché le gomme erano fredde. Lì ho avuto qualche dubbio, però alla fine ha portato bene...".
- La prima volta che nel 2007 Stoner l’ha passata in rettilineo con la Ducati.
"Ho detto: c...o! e mi sono preoccupato. Ho sempre avuto moto molto veloci, probabilmente la più rapida è stata la Honda, ma non ho mai visto una differenza così grande tra una moto e le altre".
- La prima volta che ha pensato di lasciare la Michelin.
"Portogallo 2006". Valentino non aggiunge altro, ma fa capire che perse la gara per colpa delle gomme.
- La prima volta con la Ferrari.
"Ah, mannaggia! Fiorano... È una macchina che ti incute molta paura già solo a salirci e va veramente forte".
- La prima volta che ha pianto.
"Non la ricordo bene. Io non piango tanto, questione di carattere. Però da bambino ho pianto un sacco di volte... E ho pianto moltissimo vedendo "il Gladiatore" al cinema".
- La prima delusione.
"Forse qualche brutto voto a scuola".
- La prima vera sconfitta in pista.
"Valencia 2006": quando Vale cadde e il titolo andò a Hayden.
- La prima notte fuori casa.
"Dai miei genitori ho sempre avuto moltissima libertà. Probabilmente la prima notte fuori casa ho dormito da Uccio".
- Il primo tradimento subito.
"Da una donna, sicuramente. Solitamente sono loro che ti tradiscono, le prime morosine che vanno con gli altri: non è una bella sensazione...".
